Pellagra in Rural Bengal

چکیده

was published in the April 1947 issue of the Journal of the Indian Medical Association (p. 256), in which I asked for an investigation by the public health authorities of the then united Bengal. The editor of the journal also drew the attention of the authorities, and the then Assistant Director of Public Health, Dr. Khan, kindly visited the village for investigation. Majority of the sufferers during the last two years approached me for treatment, and out of 56 cases 5 died of which 2 were women in advanced pregnancy who succumbed at child birth, 1 died of cholera and the other 2 died of heart failure.
